The Calm Before The Gig
Some times I am scrambling to get set up before a gig. Other times I can relax and take my time. Saturday was one of those relaxing times. I got to the venue early and had plenty of time to set up and enjoy the beautiful weather and quiet before the sound check, last minute set list changes, and gigging began.
This was at the PNC Arena South Plaza in Raleigh, looking out at the Carter-Finley Stadium, before the inflatables were filled, the hockey crowds arrived, the sound check began, and Peak City Sound started to play. We were booked to play a pre-game outdoor show for the final Hurricanes game of the season. This was my view from the stage. Worthy of a quick iPhone photo.
In a few months The Rolling Stones will be playing across the street at the stadium to a somewhat larger crowd.
