Tips For New Guitar Players 7

I’ve been playing guitar for over 40 years. Along the way I have received some great advice. I have also learned a lot of things the hard way and through experience. I would like to share some of that advice with you. These are in no particular order.

Play Time

They don’t call it “playing” guitar for nothing. Practicing is essential if you want to improve, but practicing is just repetition. Anything you want to learn will eventually come with repetition. But don’t spend all your playing time just practicing. Every time you pick up your guitar you should play at least one thing for pure enjoyment. Playing a favorite song, jamming, soloing over some chord changes, whatever you enjoy about playing guitar. Making music should be fun!
